SPAN 365: Chicano Literature
Focuses on the reading and analysis of selected Chicano writers whose literary works have left a distinctive mark on Chicano Literature. Emphasizes the understanding of Chicano comology (society, culture, behavior and values throughout the literary texts. No prior knowledge of Spanish required. (Prereq: Junior or Senior Standing)

Course Narrative
The Chicano Narrative class has exposed me to another part of who I am, a part I had not explored much. I relished in the linguistics of the many books we read comprising of authors like José Antonio Villarreal, Sandra Cisneros, Alicia Gaspar de Alba and Reyna Grande. Please refer to the link below to view an analysis paper I wrote on Villarreal’s book, Pocho (1959). This MLO has brought me closer to the understanding of the beautiful Chicano culture.
